Stephan Mathieu is a electracoustic musician and sound artist from Germany. He makes use of early instruments, environmental sound and obsolete media. These are recorded and manipulated. He does live shows and installations for galleries and art spaces. He has collaborated with the likes of Sylvain Chauveau, Taylor Deupree, Jozef van Wissem and David Sylvian.

He has a new recording to be released on the Cronica label entitled Strings featuring David Maranha: Violin and Shruti Box and Stephan Mathieu: Virginals and Electromagnets
